We recommend leaving the background scanning on but disabling "Rescan Failed Plug-ins" and "Rescan Existing Plug-ins" since it is not typically necessary unless resetting and/or troubleshooting plug-in behavior. If this is the case on your system, you will need to manually disable the settings.

Depending on the plug-ins present on your system, if you have "Rescan Failed Plug-ins" and "Rescan Existing Plug-ins" enabled (under Edit > Preferences > File - VST Settings), the background scanner may repeatedly detect changes causing the scanner to continually repeat.įor this reason, it is recommended that you do not enable "Rescan Failed Plug-ins", "Rescan Existing Plug-ins" and "Automatic Background Scan" all a the same time.
